Body Landscapes. An Ecofeminist Perspective
‘BLOT – Body Line of Thought’, a mesmerising dance performance created by Simona Deaconescu (RO) and Vanessa Goodman (CA), depicts how uncontrolled microbiological entanglements shape our existence. For one month, in the late spring of 2025, ‘BLOT’ becomes a metaphor for sustainable collaboration, awareness, and care in a circuit gathering artists’ collectives, institutions, and festivals in the diverse contexts of Western countries and the Eastern/Balkan Region.
Travelling by land only, Tangaj Collective will present ‘BLOT’ together with LOKOMOTIVA – Centre for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture (Skopje, MK), Albania Dance Meeting (Tirana, AL), Students Cultural Centre in Novi Sad (RS), Croatian Cultural Centre/Port of Dance Festival (Rijeka, HR), En-Knap Productions (Ljubljana, SI), Fondazione Emilia Romagna Teatro (Bologna, IT), Klagenfurt Festival (AT), L1 Independent Artists Association of Public Utility (Budapest, HU), and The National Centre for Dance in Bucharest (RO).
The show is accompanied by a screening featuring five dance films on ecofeminist themes and a workshop led by choreographer Simona Deaconescu. The show will include open captions and a dossier for neurodivergent audiences to address a notable gap in making performances accessible in the regional context.
